New Computer
Connor decided he needed a new computer so he researched things and built his own personal computer from scratch. I can't tell you all the technical specs of his computer but it is top of the line. He ordered all the parts and built it from watching a few 'how to' videos. He has a great computer and built it for a fraction of the cost he would have paid retail for it.
This not something too many people would attempt to do. We are all amazed. It's nice having a 'technical' family member in the house...!

Boys Night Out
Connor and Elijah, Feb 2013 |
Connor and Elijah's mom has a 'ladies night out' at least once a month with her bible study lady friends. So one of those times we decided we would have a 'boys night out'. Elijah decided we would have dinner at I-Hop in Lake Jackson. Connor was already in Lake Jackson so he joined us. It was a very fun evening. Elijah is enjoying a big forkful of whip cream from his pancake. Connor had a fajita omelet. I had vegetable omelet. 'Boys Night Out' was a smashing success...! I think we will definitely need to plan another boys night out, in the near future!

Connor's Christmas 2013
On Christmas morning this year we enjoyed a a delicious breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy. Then we read the Christmas story from Luke 2. Afterwards we opened presents. Connor received numerous gifts. One of his favorites was a Craftsman Tool box from his mom.
Connor got his mom an art print. It turns out Monica has had her eye on this print for some time so Connor chose the perfect gift for his mom!
Connor and Elijah received a gift they could share: An archery set. The entire family has enjoyed it...!

Backhand Slice
Another Photo from May 2013. Connor is extended on a backhand and you can tell from the angle of his racquet that he has sliced the shot. Nice focus and concentration here. That's a pretty strong looking racquet arm, too. No, Connor is not lacking in the strength and power department!

Killer Forehand
This is one of my favorite photos of Connor playing tennis. I call this photo 'Air Connor'. He is so strong and generates extra power by using his legs to 'jump' into his shots. Connor hits the ball as hard as most of the men on the ATP tour. The only difference is the pros are a little more consistent than Connor is, but if he trained diligently, Connor would be right there with the best players in the world. I am grateful to have Connor as my workout partner...! ~Coach Sam

Connor's Corner is 'Open' Again...!
Connor and Elijah, 2012 |
Dear Family and Friends,
I stopped posting on this blog site four years ago but am delighted to reopen it again. I especially want to keep extended family updated on what is going on with Connor these days. I also want this photo journal to be a cherished legacy that Connor will be able to share with his own children one day, too.
I would like to just catch everyone up quickly with a few life events: Connor has been back home with us in West Columbia for a little over a year now. He is working for a contractor at DOW in Lake Jackson and is learning how to be an electrician. He is passionate about body building, tennis, and learning his new trade.
I am VERY proud of Connor, and I praise God for what the Lord is doing in Connor's and our family's lives right now. I have many photos to post but will only upload one or two every couple days or so as my schedule permits.
This photo was taken in the fall of 2012 along the Columbia Lakes Country Club golf course. Our house is a short walk down the 16th fairway to the tennis center. Connor and Elijah were on their way for a little practice session when Monica snapped this photo.
Aren't those wonderful smiles? Monica really captured a precious moment here. These guys love each other very much and it definitely shows in their faces. Let me just say that 'God's Love' has transformed our family relationship.
Of course, I love that Connor and Elijah both love tennis, too. Monica and I are both avid tennis players, too. You will see lots of fun family tennis photos in the upcoming weeks and I know everyone will enjoy them.
Let me say this about Connor's Tennis. He is Good, REALLY Good. In my twenty five years of coaching I would rank Connor athletically in the top three players I have ever coached. Both the other athletes played college tennis for major universities, and one of them even played on the Mens Pro Tour.
At 21 years of age, Connor still has a shot playing pro tennis if he wants. Connor is the kind of person that is going to excel at what ever he puts his mind to. Right now He is a little more passionate about body building than tennis. But whatever his passion is, I am going to love him and encourage him.
Monica, Elijah, and I are very much enjoying this season of having Connor back home with us. God is Good! Will post more photos again soon.
If anyone has photos of Connor when he was younger and would like me to publish them here please email me at http://coachsam@chadwelltennis.com.
Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas,
Sam Chadwell
