October One Year Ago...

Here is a photo of Connor and Elijah taken in October 2007.... Wow what a difference one year makes....! Connor is probably ten inches taller now than he was a year ago. Elijah is a lot taller, too...! Last year we tried to carve friendly faces into our pumpkins but this year I think we're going to carve scripture verses and Christian themes...!

Dinosaur World

Our family visited Dinosaur World while we were in Dallas during our evacuation of Hurricane Ike. We mainly went for Elijah's benefit, but Connor had a good time, too!

This Summer in Kemah

We went to Kemah in July for Elijah's Birthday. Look how tall Connor is now...!

Piggy Back Ride...

Elijah just loves to ride on Connor's Shoulders....! This photo was taken during Connor's track season last school year. Connor has grown several inches over the summer and almost stands six feet tall now...!

Self Examination

We went to the beach in Galveston for a fun family day the Friday before school was about to start up again. Monica made a comment to Connor that it seemed the sun was really making his freckles come out more. Connor took this photo of himself to see if his freckles were indeed increasing.

The result...? Inconclusive....

Nice Forehand...!

Yea...! Connor's making a tennis comeback. He took last year off from tennis but has decided to get back into it mainly because his best friend is showing an interest.

It's really crazy, but you can hardly tell that Connor has laid off a whole year. Honestly, many aspects of his game are actually 'better' than where he left off...

Oh well, that's the benefit of being a finely tuned athlete...!

This photo was taken during a tournament in Corpus Christi back in 2006. Connor and I achieved a state ranking of #3 in Texas in Father/Son Doubles that year.

Smores

Here's a fun moment we shared this summer... We sat in the back yard and made s'mores. Monica said she had never had or made a s'more before... That surprised us all. But we were happy to show her what it was all about. Connor has excellent s'more making and eating technique...!

Dear Family, Friends, (and of course, Connor...)

Sorry I haven't posted photos in a while. The latter part of 2007 was extremely busy for me and I had to cut back on all my blogging. I'll try to do a better job keeping everyone updated in 2008...

Here's a quick recap about what Connor's been up to...

• Connor had a great football season earning starting positions on both offense and defense
• Connor continues to make straight A's...
• Connor is planning to run track this spring and has really been committed to working out in the gym this year. He's already in good shape and with his new regimen he's getting stronger every day. I really admire his work ethic in that regard!
• Connor is enjoying learning to play the guitar... Yea!
• His favorite group activity with his friends is air soft war.

That's a quick update... I'll try to update at least once a week form here on out.

Connor is learning how to play guitar...! He has had a few lessons and has learned a lot of chords. He hasn't given us a concert yet , but he sounds good pretty good from his room...!

Teeth Cleaning...?

Poor Connor was such a good sport this past weekend allowing Elijah to spray him with the water hose. In this action photo Connor accidentally took a direct shot in the mouth as Elijah shouts with glee...! By the way, Connor would like it documented that he blew up Elijah's pool with 'mostly his own air' because the hand pump was not working properly...

It's so much fun to watch the boys play together. Connor is an excellent big brother!

Connor helped show Elijah how to ride his bike earlier this year. At first, Elijah's big problem was that his legs were not long enough, Now he's a bike Pro...! I love this photo of Connor and Elijah. This is a great 'BIG Brother' moment.

Rounding Out The First Week of School...

Connor reports that High School is Fun... He's feeling engaged and challenged. He hasn't started football yet but will get involved in that starting next week.

He is taking 'German' as one of his subjects and we have been practicing German at the dinner table lately.

This weekend we don't have any definite plans for the holiday. But I'm sure we'll do something fun and I'll make a full report next Monday...!
