Hanging out with Elijah

Here's a nice photo of Connor holding his baby brother in the back yard while I was cooking Thanksgiving dinner on the smoker. Connor is a very good brother... And Elijah simply adores Him!

More Connor Christmas

Here's Connor with a new PS 2 game that Grand Pa Arno sent him

Connor is heading out to Missouri today at noon... We're about to go get one more tennis workout before he leaves... He's been hitting the ball extremely well lately!

Early Christmas For Connor

Connor is shown here proudly displaying one of his favorite Christmas gifts: a 40 gig MP3 player. This was a gift from Grandpa Arno and Grandma Judy. We opened presents early because Connor is leaving on December 22 to spend Christmas with his other set of grand parents in Missouri.

12/19/2005
Connor starts his day off this morning with baby sitting Elijah while his mom takes a tennis lesson. Then Connor will participate in a Christmas Break Tennis Camp from 10 AM to 2 PM... Then he's off for an afternoon of Christmas shopping.

Christmas Break...!

Connor went through a period of time earlier this year when he did not want me to take his photo. This is one of those times. He was trying to swing the racquet up in front of his face but I was too quick for him... We had just finished a tennis workout and he was hot and sweaty.

12/17/05:
The weather is too cool for tennis today. The temps are hovering in the low 40's and upper 30's and it's a little rainy. But Connor is eager to practice. We've got two big tournaments coming up next month. He's going to be gone to Missouri for most of Christmas break and the weather probably won't be tennis friendly up there. So we'll have a lot of catching up to do in the New Year...!

Brothers

Connor dressed up Elijah the other night. I think that's a pair of Elijah's pants on Elijah's head... But it makes him look pretty cool, I think. They had a great time playing. Check out some of the other photos on Elijah's Blog.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for Connor until January. And he leaves for Missouri on Dec 22 to spend Christmas with his Dad's family.

Tennis Anyone...?

Here's a photo of Connor playing one of his favorite sports: Tennis. It's difficult for Connor to choose which sport he likes best. (He also loves football...) He's such a good athlete that he's going to excel in any sport that he puts his mind to...

All I know is that he's better than I was at the same age. Plus, since he has a built in professional coach as a step dad and he lives just five minutes away from eight lighted championship tennis courts, he's got an unbelievable opportunity that I would have died for when I was a kid!

I think for now that tennis is just a hobbie for Connor. But if he ever gets serious about it, he's got great potential, that's for sure! Any way... This is the first of many tennis photos...

Family Ping Pong Champion

Connor Loves to play Ping Pong. Here he is preparing to deliver a serve back at our old house on Arncliffe in Houston. We haven't played too much since we moved to West Columbia but after we finally get completely unpacked I'll bet we play quite a bit. We now have a great garage with lots more room than our other garage did.

Connor Update: 12/11/05

As you can see I didn't post over the weekend. I probably won't as a general rule. The weekends are a different routine for me and I tend to not use my computer as much on Saturday and Sunday. I'm trying to make that more 'family time'.

Connor was feeling a little under the weather this weekend. He had a low grade temperature and didn't do a whole lot. But the weather is looking good this week and hopefully he'll feel up to practicing lots of tennis...! We have a big tournament on his schedule the first weekend of January!

The New Connor Copeland Photo Journal Starts Today

Connor is serious most of the time, but he definitely has a playful side that comes out at the most unexpected moments. (like this particular time when he was kidding around hiding in the game and movie closet at our old house. He would wait patiently and quietly, then pop open the cabinet door and scare his mom or the kittys. This photo was taken about five or six months ago. He's grown so much in the past few months that he probably couldn't fit in there now...

Since Elijah has his own blog, I thought Connor should have one, too. This Blog is my new winter project. I want Connor to have great memories of his growing up years in West Columbia. It's also a great way for friends and family across the country to stay in touch with what's going on with Connor. I'm just going to add this blog to my daily routine of blogging. It will be mainly a photo blog with a little commentary here and there.

And of course, Connor will be a guest blogger himself from time to time as well. He may even completely take over this blog eventually. That wouldn't hurt my feelings. I hope that one day Conner will get into his own routine of keeping a journal as a legacy for his future family. (I've kept a journal off and on from when I was in high school.)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy today's photo.

See you tomorrow...

Coach Sam
